Gregory Reinhard had a great start and after six shutout innings, he left the game with a 3-0 lead. Unfortunately, the pen gave up six runs and that lead turned into a 6-5 loss so that great start turned out to be wasted.
Chris Amador was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for five with a solo homerun and two runs scored.
Daytona took care of Clearwater 7-5 and Tyler Colvin was one of the hitting stars. He went three for five with a double, two RBIs and a run. Chris Amador also had a nice day at the plate and he went three for five with a triple, an RBI and two runs.
Darin Downs picked up the win and he improved to 2-0 on the season. He gave up two unearned runs on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
Jesus Valdez drove home Tyler Colvin in the bottom of the eleventh inning on a sac. fly to win it for the Cubs in eleven innings. The finals was 7-6 and Chris Amador played a big role in the win. He went two for five but both hits were solo homeruns. Colvin finished with a nice game and he went three for six with two doubles and two runs.
Rocky Roquet picked up the win and he improved to 1-0 on the season. He threw both of the extra frames and he held the Jays scoreless in both.
Daytona racked up eight runs in the third innings as they blew out Brevard County 9-3. Tyler Colvin was the hitting star in the win. He went three for four with a double, two RBIs and a run. Chris Amador hit a solo homerun and he scored two runs.
Scott Taylor picked up the win and he improved to 3-5 with a nice start. He gave up two runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Daytona shutout Fort Myers 3-0 and Mitch Atkins improved to 3-3 with a very nice start. He gave up just two hits with three strikeouts in eight shutout innings.
Chris Amador was the hitting star in the win. He went two for five with a double, a run and an RBI.
Joel Santo dropped to 3-3 on the season with a very tough start in the Cubs 12-7 loss to Vero Beach. He gave up eight runs on twelve hits with a walk and two strikeouts in five innings of work.

Daytona rallied for three runs in the ninth to come back in a 4-3 win over St. Lucie. Kyle Reynolds doubled, drove in a run and scored while Chris Amador finished with three hits.
Scott Koerber improved to 2-0 with a shutout inning of relief. Matthew Avery pitched a shutout ninth and he saved his fourth game of the season.
Joel Santo improved to 2-0 on the season with another solid start. He gave up two runs on five hits and one walks in 6 2/3 innings. Jerry Blevins threw 2 1/3 shutout innings and he picked up his first save of the season.
Chris Amador was the hitting star. He went three for four with an RBI and two runs. He’s now hitting .357 and he’s scored 12 times in the ten games he’s played in.
Chris Amador got it done with the stick today as the Cubs beat Jupiter 6-3. He went three for five with a triple and two runs. Ryan Norwood had two singles, two RBIs and a run.
Jerry Blevins picked up the win in a relief appearance. He threw 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball and he struck out two.
The Cubs had a really good pitching performance in the first gam of a doubleheader with Vero Beach but then a very poor one in the second game. Joel Santo gave up just one one run on eight hits in five innings and he picked up the win in the first game. Chris Amador had a nice game at the plate. He went one for three with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs in the 5-1 win.
Game two didn’t go nearly as well. Mitch Atkins gave up six runs (just one earned) in 4 1/3 innings and both Cubs relievers gave up runs. The lone run in the 8-1 loss was an RBI by Alberto Garcia.
The Cubs had a lot of hitting stars in their 12-4 blowout win over Brevard County but Robinson Chirinos was a notch ahead. He went three for four with two doubles, a walk, an RBI and three runs in the win. Chris Amador singled three times and scored three runs while Jake Muyco and Ryan Norwood each drove in three runs.
Todd Blackford was roughed up for four runs in 4 2/3 innings but he walked away with a no decision. Grant Johnson picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief.
