Daytona didn’t do much at the plate in a 5-1 loss to Brevard County. Nate Spears drove in the only run for the Cubs and Brian Dopirak went two for three with a walk and a run.
Scott Koerber dropped to 2-3 with a tough start. He gave up five runs (four earned) on eleven hits and two hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Mitch Atkins improved to 4-3 on the season with a nice start in Daytona’s 7-1 win over Brevard County. He gave up five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Jeff Culpepper was the hitting star in the win. He went three for five with three RBIs and a run.
Daytona beat Brevard County 9-3 despite getting outhit 12-9 because of five errors made by Brevard County. Tyler Colvin also had a nice game at the plate. He went three for four with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Scott Taylor picked up the win with seven solid innings and he improved to 3-5 on the season. He gave up two runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in seven solid inning.
Daytona racked up eight runs in the third innings as they blew out Brevard County 9-3. Tyler Colvin was the hitting star in the win. He went three for four with a double, two RBIs and a run. Chris Amador hit a solo homerun and he scored two runs.
Scott Taylor picked up the win and he improved to 3-5 with a nice start. He gave up two runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Jesse Estrada improved to 1-1 on the season with a nice start against Fort Myers. He gave up one run on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Brian Dopirak was the hitting star in the 3-1 win. He went two for three with a run and an RBI.
A pretty good start by Jeff Samardzija went to waste in the Cubs 2-1 loss to Fort Myers. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings.
Brian Dopirak had the only extra base hit of the game for the Cubs. He doubled and he also drove in the only run.
Daytona shutout Fort Myers 3-0 and Mitch Atkins improved to 3-3 with a very nice start. He gave up just two hits with three strikeouts in eight shutout innings.

Jeff Samardzija had his worst start of the season in Daytona’s 11-3 blowout loss. He gave up seven runs on nine hits and a walk in just 1 2/3 innings. The loss drops him to 0-3 on the season.
Ryan Norwood went three for four and he scored two runs. Jake Muyco went three for four with one run.
Daytona was shut down in their 6-1 loss to Sarasota. The only run of the game for the Cubs came on a solo homerun by Kyle Reynolds.

The Cubs offense was held in check and the only run of the game came on an RBI sac. fly by Jesus Valdez. No Daytona hitter reached base more then once.

Daytona lost 6-3 to Jupiter and and it was the pen that lost this one. Jesse Estrada left the game after six shutout innings and Michael Phelps took the loss after he gave up three unearned runs in the ninth inning.
Tyler Colvin drove in two of the Cubs runs with a two run homer. Alberto Garcia went three for four.
Jeff Samardzija had a tough start and he dropped to 0-2 on the season in the Cub’s 5-1 loss to Vero Beach. He gave up four runs on nine hits with one strikeout in 6 1/3 innings.
Alan Rick was the hitting star in the loss. He was the only Cub with two hits and he scored the only run in the loss.
The Cubs didn’t get much offense in their 2-0 shutout loss to Vero Beach. Ryan Norwood had two of the five hits while Matt Matulia tripled.

Joel Santo dropped to 3-3 on the season with a very tough start in the Cubs 12-7 loss to Vero Beach. He gave up eight runs on twelve hits with a walk and two strikeouts in five innings of work.
Jesus Valdez had four hits in the loss and Tyler Colvin went two for four with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Chris Amador also had a nice game and he went two for four with a triple and three runs.
