Iowa doubled up Oklahoma 8-4 and it was Geovany Soto who helped out the cause in half of the Cubs runs. He went two for four with four RBIs and Matt Craig came a single short of hitting for the cycle. He went three for four with two runs and two RBIs.
Ben Howard picked up the win was two innings of shutout relief. He gave up just a single hit and the win improved his record to 6-5 on the season.
Les Walrond didn’t have his best start of the season but he picked up the win none the less and improved to 6-2 on the season. He gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Geovany Soto went two for three with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and a run. Mike Fontenot went two for five with an RBI and two runs.
Anthony Richie hit a big two run homer in the top of the ninth to break a 2-2 tie in Iowa’s 4-2 win over Tacoma. He finished the game with just that one hit, but man was it a big one. Geovany Soto also had a nice game and he went one for two with two RBIs and a run.
Clay Rapada picked up the win. He threw 1 2/3 perfect innings and he struck out one to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Iowa blewout Oklahoma 13-8 and Eric Patterson led the way for the Cubs at the plate. He went three for five with two triples, four RBIs and two runs scored. Geovany Soto went two for four with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and three runs.
Randy Wells picked up the win with two innings of shutout relief. He gave up one hit and he struck out four.
Geovany Sota had the big hit of the game in the Cubs 7-2 win over Round Rock. His grand slam in the sixth capped off a six run inning that pushed the Cubs into the lead for good. Mike Fontenot went three for five with a run and an RBI.
Randy Wells picked up the win in a three inning relief appearance despite giving up the two runs. He gave up three hits and one walk and he struck out one.
Micah Hoffpauir drove in his 40th run of the season in the second inning but unfortunately, that’s all the Cubs got in their 5-1 loss to Round Rock. Geovany Soto doubled and he scored the lone run.
Wade Miller was roughed up in his rehab start. He gave up four runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in six innings.
Cory Bailey was hit hard in his one inning of relief and he dropped to 0-1 on the season. He gave up four runs on four hits and a walk.
Geovany Soto provided most of the offense in the 8-4 win with one swing of the bat. His three run homer put the Cubs on the board in the first inning.
