Alfred Joseph provided most of the offense for the Chiefs in their 4-2 win over the White Caps. He went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs.
Jacob Renshaw gave up two runs in five innings. Jeremy Papelbon picked up the win with three shutout innings.
The Chiefs edged the White Caps 1-0 in a pitchers duel and Rafael Dolis was on the better side of it. He gave up four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Andrew Lopez scored the only run of the game. He went one for three with a double.
The Chiefs lost in a blowout to the White Caps 11-3. Jose Pina was hit hard and he gave up seven runs on eight hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings. The loss drops Pina to 0-2 on the season.
Yusuf Carter was the hitting star. He went two for three with a double and he scored one of the three Chief’s runs.
Oscar Bernard was roughed up by the Cougars in his relief appearance. He took the loss and dropped to 0-1 and he gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with a strikeout in just two innings.
Wellington Castillo hit his third homerun of the season and he drove in two. Andrew Lopez singled, drove in two and scored a run in the 6-4 loss.
The Chiefs and Kane County played a crazy game. Down 3-2, Peoria scored three in the eighth to take the lead ony to see Kane County score four in the bottom half of the inning to take a two run lead. Then the Chiefs answered with two in the ninth and the game went into extra frames until Peoria scored two in the twelth to win it 9-7.
Charles Platt picked up the win with two shutout innings. Blake Lalli had a big game and he went two for six with a double and four RBIs.
Peoria was pummelled by the Chiefs today and Alberto Alburquerque took the brunt of the onslaught. He gave up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk in four innings and the loss dropped him to 1-2 on the season.
Andrew Lopez was the hitting star. He went three for four with a double and two RBIs in the 14-3 loss.
Jose Ceda got it done in grand fashion today as he held the Loons to just two hits with five strikeouts in six innings of work. Rocky Roquet struck out three in two shutout innings to close it out and he saved his third game of the season.
Wellington Castillo had a big day at the plate in the 3-0 win. He went two for four with a solo homerun and two RBIs. Yusuf Carter drove in the other run on a solo shot.
The Chiefs won their fourth straight game with two wins over the Loons. The first game was a solid pitchers duel with Jose Pina and Alessandro Maestri combining to beat the Loons. Pina gave up a single run on six hits in 4 2/3 and Maestri picked up the win with 2 1/3 innings of one hit ball. Matthew Canepa was the hitting star. He went two for three with a run.
In game two, Rafael Dolis got it done on the mound. He gave up a run on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in five innings. DJ Lewis had two hits and two runs while Yusuf Carter and Blake Lalli each had two hits, a run and an RBI.
Alberto Alburquerque picked up his first win of the season with five solid innings in the 3-1 Chiefs win. He gave up just a single run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
Andrew Lopez drove in two of the Chief’s three runs in the win. Wellington Castillo went three for four with a run.
Peoria was hammered by Quad Cities 9-3 and Jose Ceda took the brunt of the damage. He gave up seven runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
Andrew Lopez hit a solo homerun for one of the runs. Joshua Lansford and Russell Canzier each had two hits.
Rafael Dolis lost his first game of the season with a tough loss. He gave up four runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in four innings of work. Jeremy Papelbon was also knocked around and he gave up four runs in 1 2/3 innings.
Andrew Lopez was the hitting star. He went two for four with a double, a triple an RBI and two runs. DJ Lewis hit a solo homerun.
Peoria was shut down at the plate today in a 2-0 loss to Burlington. All the Chiefs managed was three singles and they didn’t draw a single walk in the game.
Jose Pina took the loss with four decent innings. He gave up a single run on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts.
After starting 3-0, Peoria picked up two quick losses in their double header with Quad Cities. In the first game, they were shut out on just one hit and Alberto Alburquerque was roughed up for three runs in just three innings.
In the second game, the pitching was a touch better and Peoria scored a run but it wasn’t enough in the 2-1 loss. Joshua Lansford doubled twice and Yusuf Carter went two for three with a double and a run. William Muldowney took the loss despite throwing a complete game (just six innings). He gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.
Welington Castillo had a big game at the plate in the Chiefs 8-3 blowout win over Burlington. He went two for four with his first homerun and three RBIs. Joshua Lansford hit a two run homerun and Russell Canzier had three hits and three runs.
Jose Ceda picked up the win in a solid start. He gave up three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in five innings.
Peoria got an awesome start from Rafael Dolis. The right hander gave up just a single unearned run on two hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in just five innings.
Matt Camp was the hitting star. He went two for four and he scored one of the two Chiefs’ runs.
The Chiefs jumped all over Wisconsin in their season opener with seven runs in the top of the first inning. Dylan Johnston singled twice, scored two runs and had one RBI while Yusuf Carter singled twice and scored two runs. Russell Canzler had two walks and two runs and all nine of the Chiefs hits were singles.
William Muldowney didn’t have all that great of a start but he picked up the win because of all the run support. He gave up four runs (three earned) on eight hits but he struck out nine in five innings of work.
