Jonathan Mota scored on a sac. fly by Russ Canzier in the top of the ninth inning to beat Cedar Rapids 4-3. Canzier finished the game with two RBIs and Jonathan Mota went three for five with a run.
Jeremy Papelbon picked up the win with three nice innings of relief. He gave up one hit and one walk and he struck out three in the win.
Alessandro Maestri had a rough time on the mound in the Chiefs 12-7 loss to Cedar Rapids. He gave up seven runs on eight hits and two walks with strikeouts in just two innings of work.
Joshua Lansford was the hitting star in the loss. He went four for five with an RBI and two runs.
Al Alburquerque was shelled in the Chiefs 9-3 blowout loss to Cedar Rapids. He gave up seven runs in just 1 2/3 innings of relief.
Blake Lalli was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a solo homerun.
The Chiefs swept Wisconsin and held the opposition to just one run between the two wins. In the first game, Jacob Renshaw threw five shutout innings and he improved to 4-2 on the season. James Adduci went two for three and he drove in two of the seven runs in the 7-0 win.
In the second game, the Chiefs won 4-1 behind a nice outing by Marco Carrillo. He threw five shutout innings as well and he improved to 1-1 on the season. Yusuf Carter doubled, scored a run and he drove in two in the win.
Peoria split their doubleheader with Wisconsin and the picked up the win in the first game in a 4-1 win. Chris Shaver gave up one unearned run on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts in five innings. Matt Camp went one for three and he both scored and drove in a run.
The second game didn’t go as well as the Chiefs lost 3-1. Jose Pina gave up three runs on nine hits and one walk with three strikeouts in six innings and the loss drops him to 1-4 on the season. Dylan Johnston drove in the only run for the Chiefs with a solo homerun.
Peoria lost to Wisconsin 3-2 in a pretty good pitching matchup. Alessandro Maestri gave up just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings and the loss drops him to 3-2 on the season.
Russell Canzier singled twice and he drove in a run. Yusuf Carter went two for four with a run.
The Chiefs beat the Lugnuts 5-4 and Joshua Landsford’s two run homer in the eighth inning turned out to be the game winner. Russell Canzier also helped out the cause with a two run homer of his own.
Oscar Bernard picked up the win with a shutout inning but he was in the right place at the right time. Rocky Roquet threw a shutout ninth and he picked up his tenth save of the season.
Jacob Renshaw took a beating in the Chiefs 8-2 loss to Lansing. He gave up six runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. The loss drops his record to 3-2 on the season.
Joshua Lansford singed and he drove in both of the runs. Jonathan Mota went two for four.
Yusuf Carter’s two run homer played a big part in the Chiefs 7-5 win over the Lugnuts. James Adduci also had a nice game. He went three for four and he scored two runs.

The Chiefs lost to Beloit 4-2 in what was a sloppy gave where each team made three errors. Joshua Lansford doubled and he drove in a run while Matt Camp singled, scored and drove in one.

While Peoria outhit Beloit 7-5, the scoreboard showed a 4-1 loss at games’ end. Russell Canzier drove in the only Chiefs’ run and Joshua Lansford went two for four with a double.
Robert Hernandez took the loss and he dropped to 0-1 on the season. He gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits with three strikeouts in five innings of work.
Jacob Renshaw was decent but he still took his first loss of the season in a 4-2 loss to Beloit. He gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings.

A pretty good start by Jose Pina went to waste in the Chiefs 2-1 loss to Beloit. He gave up just one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six innings. Marco Carrillo took the loss when he gave up a run in the seventh inning.

The Chiefs couldn’t get the sticks going and they were held to five hits in a 1-0 shutout loss. Jonathan Mota was the hitting star and he went two for three with a double.
Chris Shaver threw four shutout innings in his start but it was the pen that gave up the game winner. Charles Platt took the loss and he gave up one run on four hits and a walk in 2 1/3 relief innings.
Jayson Ruhlman three shutout innings in relief to pick up the win for the Chiefs. He gave up just one hits and he and two other relievers combined to shutout Beloit over the final five frames.
Yusuf Carter had the big hit of the game. His two run homer was the difference maker in the 3-1 win. He also scored the other and finished two for four.
The Chiefs and Rattlers each took in a game in today’s doubleheader. In the first game, the Chiefs got the bats going and won 8-5. Wellington Castillo went three for three with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and a run while Joshua Lansford had two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Jacob Renshaw was hit hard but he improved to 3-0. He gave up five runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Game two didn’t go quite as well and the Chiefs lost 5-3 in eight innings. Jeremy Papelbon gave up the walk off two run homer while Marco Carrillo had a rough start and didn’t even finish the fourth inning. Russell Canzier hit a solo homerun and James Adduci went two for four with a double and an RBI.
