Jacob Renshaw improved to 6-4 on the season with a nice start in the Chiefs 3-0 win over Beloit. He gave up three hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in 6 1/3 shutout innings.
Russell Canzier drove in all three Chiefs runs. He went three for four with a homerun. Joshua Lansford went two for four with a double and two runs.
The Chiefs put some runs on the board and while they racked up eight runs, they still lost 9-8 in ten innings. Donald Walters gave up the losing run in the tenth inning and he took the loss.
Russell Canzier had a nice game. He went three for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Robert Hernandez improved to 2-1 on the seasone with a nice start in the Chief’s 4-2 win over Clinton. He gave up one run on three hits with five strikeouts in five solid innings.
Russell Canzier went two for four with a double and an RBI. Yusuf Carter hit a solo homerun.
Jonathan Mota had a big game at the plate in the Chief’s 6-4 win over Beloit. He went two for four with a big three run homer. Russell Canzier also helped out the cause with a two run homer of his own.
Jacob Renshaw didn’t have a great start but he improved to 5-2 on the season with the win. He gave up four runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Jonathan Mota scored on a sac. fly by Russ Canzier in the top of the ninth inning to beat Cedar Rapids 4-3. Canzier finished the game with two RBIs and Jonathan Mota went three for five with a run.
Jeremy Papelbon picked up the win with three nice innings of relief. He gave up one hit and one walk and he struck out three in the win.
Peoria lost to Wisconsin 3-2 in a pretty good pitching matchup. Alessandro Maestri gave up just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings and the loss drops him to 3-2 on the season.
Russell Canzier singled twice and he drove in a run. Yusuf Carter went two for four with a run.
The Chiefs beat the Lugnuts 5-4 and Joshua Landsford’s two run homer in the eighth inning turned out to be the game winner. Russell Canzier also helped out the cause with a two run homer of his own.
Oscar Bernard picked up the win with a shutout inning but he was in the right place at the right time. Rocky Roquet threw a shutout ninth and he picked up his tenth save of the season.
Oscar Bernard gave up a two run homer in the top of the eleventh as the Chiefs lost to the Lugnuts 5-3. Chris Shaver also had an okay start and he gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Russell Canzier finished three for five and he drove in a run. James Adduci also had three hits in the game.
While Peoria outhit Beloit 7-5, the scoreboard showed a 4-1 loss at games’ end. Russell Canzier drove in the only Chiefs’ run and Joshua Lansford went two for four with a double.
Robert Hernandez took the loss and he dropped to 0-1 on the season. He gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits with three strikeouts in five innings of work.
The Chiefs and Rattlers each took in a game in today’s doubleheader. In the first game, the Chiefs got the bats going and won 8-5. Wellington Castillo went three for three with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and a run while Joshua Lansford had two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Jacob Renshaw was hit hard but he improved to 3-0. He gave up five runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Game two didn’t go quite as well and the Chiefs lost 5-3 in eight innings. Jeremy Papelbon gave up the walk off two run homer while Marco Carrillo had a rough start and didn’t even finish the fourth inning. Russell Canzier hit a solo homerun and James Adduci went two for four with a double and an RBI.
Peoria was hammered by Quad Cities 9-3 and Jose Ceda took the brunt of the damage. He gave up seven runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
Andrew Lopez hit a solo homerun for one of the runs. Joshua Lansford and Russell Canzier each had two hits.
Welington Castillo had a big game at the plate in the Chiefs 8-3 blowout win over Burlington. He went two for four with his first homerun and three RBIs. Joshua Lansford hit a two run homerun and Russell Canzier had three hits and three runs.
Jose Ceda picked up the win in a solid start. He gave up three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in five innings.
The Chiefs jumped all over Wisconsin in their season opener with seven runs in the top of the first inning. Dylan Johnston singled twice, scored two runs and had one RBI while Yusuf Carter singled twice and scored two runs. Russell Canzler had two walks and two runs and all nine of the Chiefs hits were singles.
William Muldowney didn’t have all that great of a start but he picked up the win because of all the run support. He gave up four runs (three earned) on eight hits but he struck out nine in five innings of work.
