Ryan O’Malley fell to 3-7 on the season with another tough start. He gave up six runs on eight hits and one walk with two strikeouts in five innings.
Eric Patterson hit a two run homer in the loss 7-4 loss. Micah Hoffpauir went two for four and he belted a solo homerun, his fourteenth long ball of the year.
Iowa hitters had a tough day in their 4-1 loss to Memphis. Eric Patterson was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a double and a run.
Ryan O’Malley took the loss and he fell to 3-6 on the season. He gave up two runs on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
Iowa blew out Tacoma 12-5 and Micah Hoffpauir was just one of the hitting stars in the win. He went three for five with a three run homer. Four other Cubs went yard in an homerun onslaught with Ronny Cedeno hitting one of the homeruns. He went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Ryan O’Malley was shelled for five runs and he was gone before the end of the second inning. Fortunately, the hitters picked him up. Jim Henderson picked up the win and he improved to 3-0 with a 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball.
Iowa topped Portland 7-4 and Ryan O’Malley improved to 3-4 with a nice start in the win. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Mike Fontenot and Koyie Hill each led the way or the Iowa at the plate. Each had two hits, two runs and an RBI.
Ryan O’Malley had hit third straight tough loss in Iowa’s 13-3 loss to Oklahoma. He gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Mike Fontenot was the only Cub with two his. Micah Hoffpauir drove in yet another run with his ninth homerun of the season. He now has 42 RBIs in his 45 games.
Scott Moore had a big day at the plate in the Cubs 9-7 win over Oklahoma. He went two for four with two homeruns and five RBIs. Buck Coats also had a nice game and he went two for four with two doubles and three runs.

Felix Pie hit his second homerun of the season in the 12-2 loss. He finished the game two for four.

Buck Coats was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for four with a solo homerun and two runs scored. Mike Fontenot also went yard and he finished with two hits.
For the second straight game, Iowa’s hitters picked up just a single run and as expected, the team lost their second game. The lone run came in the eighth inning off of a solo homerun by Mike Fontenot.
A nice start by Ryan O’Malley went to waste. He gave up one run on five hits and two walks with one strikeouts in five innings.
Ryan O’Malley had a very solid start and he gave up just one unearned runs on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts. The problem is, the relievers gave up three late runs to lose it in ten innings. Clay Rapada took the loss after he gave up a run in the tenth.
Casey McGehee was solid at the plate in the 4-3 loss. He went two for four with a double, a homerun, an RBI and a run.
The Iowa Cubs got some really nice pitching in their doubleheader against Round Rock, it’s just unfortunate that they got just one run between the two games. Les Walrond gave up just a single run on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings of work in the opener. Then Ryan O’Malley gave up just one unearned run in 4 2/3 innings in the 1-0 finale.
The lone run came in the opener, which Iowa lost 2-1, when Koyie Hill singled home Felix Pie.
