The Smokies got some great pitching in a 5-1 win over the Jaxx and Donald Veal picked up the win with a nice start. He improved to 3-4 on the season and he gave up three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Casey McGehee provided the bulk of the offense for the Smokies with some timely hitting. He went two for four with two doubles and he drove in four of the Smokies’ five runs.
Five hits were all the Smokies’ hitters could manage in a 7-0 loss to the Jaxx. Jemel Spearman and Chris Robinson each had two hits in the game and Spearman had the only extra base hit with a triple.
Mark Holliamn dropped to 6-3 with the loss. He gave up three runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings.
The Smokies lost to the Jaxx 5-4 and Josh Kroeger provided most of the offense with one swing of the bat. He only had one hit but it was a three run homer that provided most of the offense for the Smokies in their loss.
Gregory Reinhard took the loss when he gave up the losing run in the ninth. The loss drops him to 0-1 on the season.
The Smokies beat the Jaxx 7-4 in ten innings and Jacob Fox was the hitting star. He went two for five and he drove in three runs. Matt Craig also had a nice game and he doubled twice and scored a run.
Geoffrey Jones picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief. The win improves his record to 1-1 on the season.
The Smokies scored five runs in their final two frames to come from behind to beat the Suns 9-5. Josh Kroeger homered and drove in two runs in the win. Jacob Fox drove in two runs and scored one without getting a hit.
Sean Gallagher was hit hard and he gave up four runs in 5 1/3 innings. Adalberto Mendez gave up one run in 1 2/3 innings and he picked up the win.
The Smokies beat the Suns 9-7 and five of those nine runs were driven in by Casey McGehee. He went two for four with a three run homer. Jacob Fox scored three runs despite not getting a hit. He did walk twice in the win.
Donald Veal was hammered in his start and he gave up seven runs in four innings. Jim Henderson improved to 3-1 with the win and he threw an inning of shutout relief.
Mark Holliman gave up eight runs on eleven hits and six walks with one strikeout in 5 2/3 innings. He dropped to 6-2 on the season in the 8-4 loss.
Josh Kroeger was the hitting star in the loss. He went yard twice with two solo shots.
The Suns hammered the Smokies 8-2 and Kevin Hart had a tough start. He gave up five runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in six innings. The loss drops him to 2-5 on the season.
Jacob Fox hit a solo homerun in the loss. Issmael Salas went two for three with a walk and an RBI.
Issmael Salas hit a huge three run homer in the second inning to put the Smokies on the board in their 4-3 win over Mississippi. Josh Kroeger drove in the other run for the Smokies with a solo shot in the fourth.

The Smokies beat Mississippi 8-5 and Josh Kroeger had a had in six of those runs. He went two for three with two walks, three RBIs and three runs. Jacob Fox went two for five with a triple and he scored twice.
The pen did most of the work in this one because Donald Veal had a rough start. Jerry Blevins picked up the win with an inning of shutout relief.
Mark Holliman had another great start and he improved to 6-1. He gave up just two hits and a walk with five strikeouts in the win.
Holliman also helped out his own cause at the plate. He hit a two run homer in the second inning. Casey McGehee went two for three and he scored twice.
The Smokies made three errors in their 4-3 loss to Mississippi and it resulted in two unearned runs. While Kevin Hart had a tough start, he held Mississippi in check. Adalberto Mendez took the loss when he gave up the losing run in the fifth inning.

Jerry Blevins gave up a run in the ninth that cost the Smokies the game in their 3-2 loss to Mississippi. Justin Berg was decent in his start. He only gave up two runs but he gave up eleven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

The Smokies turned a 4-1 deficit into a 6-4 win with five eighth inning runs against the Lookouts. Carlos Rojas had only one hit but he drove in three runs while Jacob Fox went four for four with a homerun and two runs scored.
Donald Veal picked up the win although it was more because he was in the right place at the right time. He gave up a run on three hits and four walks in 2 2/3 inninings.
Mark Holliman took his first loss of the season in a rough start against the Lookouts. He gave up five runs on nine hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Jacob Fox drove in the lone run for the Smokies with a solo shot in the first inning in the 7-1 loss. He also had two of the Smokies three hits.
Kevin Hart really took it on the chin yesterday in an 11-2 loss to the Lookouts. He gave up all eleven runs on nine hits with five strikeouts in four innings. Three of those nine hits went over the fence.
