Chicago Cubs Minor League Baseball Commentary and Analysis

The Cubs had a really good pitching performance in the first gam of a doubleheader with Vero Beach but then a very poor one in the second game. Joel Santo gave up just one one run on eight hits in five innings and he picked up the win in the first game. Chris Amador had a nice game at the plate. He went one for three with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs in the 5-1 win.
Game two didn’t go nearly as well. Mitch Atkins gave up six runs (just one earned) in 4 1/3 innings and both Cubs relievers gave up runs. The lone run in the 8-1 loss was an RBI by Alberto Garcia.
